Tonk is a district headquarter, situated in the south of the state capital Jaipur on the bank of Banas River. It serves as a business center for the near by towns and villages. Despite the rich historical background, still Tonk is one of the underdeveloped town in the state. To promote a balanced environment of development and growth Master plan 2011-2031 has been prepared, which can shape the town in a better city as a whole.
